to & from
Fly into Dallas Fort Worth – it’s about a 30 min. Uber to campus and most places in Fort Worth. (Dallas Love Field is 45. minutes, have not flown into this airport.)
If you are a tiny bit impatient, renting a car is slightly annoying, since it’s sometimes a 10 min. wait for the shuttle and then a 10 min. shuttle ride from airport to the rental car facility. I like Ubering everywhere, but sometimes a car is necessary (for exploring and “move in”!) I have also rented a car through Turo, which was a good experience and slightly easier from a time and logistics perspective to renting a car.
Where to Stay
Loving the hotels in Fort Worth!
- Bowie House (an Auberge) our absolute favorite hotel in Fort Worth. Every single aspect about it is right up our alley – has a boutique hotel feeling, original art everywhere, the coolest vibe, the prettiest library off the main bar area, the food & bevs. Rooms are gorgeous, staff is on it! 5+ minutes to campus if you are a TCU parent are touring the school. Their spa is ahmaaazing.
- The Drover (Autograph Collection) – have not stayed here but hands down the most impressive hotel and scene in Fort Worth. Has a true Texas vibe and also a hotel with the most incredible original art. Have been to restaurant and it was amazing – def. more of a fine dining experience though. A must must MUST for drinks – the inside and outside bar is impressive, the outside bar (along with the supplemental airsteam bar) is one of our favs. Lots of photo/Insta opps!
- TCU Hyatt – if you are touring TCU or have a student there, everyone loves this place and walking distance to campus. No frills but truly nice enough, fun and festive rooftop bar and a Topgolf simulator if that is your jam. This is the first hotel to book up for the popular TCU weekends.
- Crescent Court – Have heard great things and we are staying here for TCU Family Weekend this Sept. so I will update this blurb! Has a Canyon Ranch within property and down street from Bowie House (therefore close to TCU too!)
- The Sinclair (Autograph Collection), The Kimpton Harper, The Worthington – all in downtown Fort Worth and are equally loved by frequent TCU visitors. A 12 min. Uber ride to campus. Have stayed at The Sinclair and The Kimpton Harper and both were solid – would stay again. Downtown is clean and safe but when we are in Fort Worth, we aren’t exactly “hanging out” in downtown.
